Admission and Registration Requirements
In accordance with the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is through the examination system conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) for high school graduates. Student registration procedures are carried out within the framework of the principles determined by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).
Rules Regarding the Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Informal, Non-Informal)
In Turkish higher education institutions, the recognition of prior formal learning, including vertical, horizontal, and intra-university transfers, is carried out within the framework of the "Regulation on the Principles Regarding Transfers Between Associate and Bachelor's Degree Programs, Double Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions" determined by the Council of Higher Education. The process of recognizing informal and non-formal learning based on certificates or experience outside of formal education institutions in Türkiye is still in its initial stages. Therefore, the recognition of prior learning has not yet been fully implemented in the Geography Bachelor's Program at Ondokuz Mayıs University. However, an exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic semester for the English course included in the program's curriculum. Students who believe they have met the required proficiency for this course are entitled to take these exams. Students who pass the exam are exempted from the relevant course in the curriculum.
Eligibility Requirements and Rules
Students who successfully complete all courses in the program (totaling 240 ECTS credits) will receive a Bachelor's degree.

The aim of the four-year Bachelor's program is to provide students with scientific knowledge in geography and related disciplines. The Department of Geography consists of four main branches: Physical Geography, Regional Geography, Human and Economic Geography, and Geography of Turkey. However, students are not admitted to these branches separately; students of the Department of Geography are trained in a single program and graduate with a single diploma.
